Social economist and development expert Benjamin Buclet shares his experience of being a GDN Mentor, and tells us why GDN mentors the research projects it supports.
He discusses the rewards — and challenges — of mentoring, particularly at the global level, highlighting the need for mentors to maintain a high awareness of cultural differences. Most importantly, he discusses the value of listening to the project holders, and allowing them to guide the process.
