Tham Siew Yean is Visiting Senior Fellow at ISEAS-Yusof Ishak Institute, Singapore and Emeritus Professor, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia. She has served as a consultant to national agencies in Malaysia such as the Ministry of International Trade and Industry and international agencies, including the World Bank, Asian Development Bank, and Asian Development Bank Institute. Her research interests and publications are in foreign direct investment, international trade, trade policies, and industrial development in Malaysia and ASEAN.
