Public Talk

Prof. Marie Stenseke delivered a talk titled, 'It takes humans to make peace with nature: On the critical role of social science and humanities research for addressing biodiversity loss,' as part of the AFD-GDN Biodiversity & Development program.

The public talk opened the Research Lab, a key event of the Awards selection process that brings together for a week, in a virtual format, the Scientific Committee of the program, policy actors and the 22 shortlisted research teams working on biodiversity mainstreaming across the globe, from Peru to Fiji.

Prof. Marie Stenseke is Professor of Human Geography at the University of Gothenburg (UG), Sweden, and Co-chair of the Multidisciplinary Expert Panel of the Intergovernmental Science-Policy Platform on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services (IPBES).
