
The winners of the Outstanding Research on Development Award, generously provided by the Japanese Government, were announced during the 'Knowledge for Sustainable Development: The Research-Policy Nexus' [#K4SD] Conference in Bonn, in October 2019.
The winner of the first prize is Emmanuel Yujuico from The Philippines who won US$ 30,000 for his work on 'Exploring Philippine use of evidence-based research to influence public health policy.'
The second prize of US$10,000 went to Saravana Jaikumar from India, for his study on 'Effective use of social media to produce, disseminate and enhance uptake of developmental research: A multi-method study.'
The third prize of US$5,000 was won, by Ruhizal Roosli from Malaysia, for 'The role of practitioners in web-based communication for post-disaster reconstruction projects in southeast Asia.'
